HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. — Holly Springs has returned to Stage 1 water restrictions, according to the town’s Web site.

Customers can now use sprinklers and irrigation systems three times a week according to a schedule. Customers are still not allowed to wash cars or use power washers.

The restrictions change started Friday.

The town had been using Stage 1 restrictions until mid-June when a line broke at the Harnett County water treatment plant. Holly Springs buys its water from Harnett County.

Harnett County’s plant repairs were completed by mid-July. Holly Springs remained under the Stage 2 restriction due to biennial system maintenance, which includes cleaning of Town water tanks. System maintenance was completed Thursday.
