NEW YORK — The Triangle was represented in the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade by a group of dancers from the Holly Springs School of Dance.

The troupe of 48 danced along with the Spirit Of America Dance Stars, who stepped lively into Herald Square just ahead of Santa Claus.

Darrell Annas, whose daughter Kylie was one of the lucky few, said it was the experience of the lifetime.

"My daughter has always wanted to go, and now is her chance," he said.
Before their big performance, the dancers and their chaperones spent two days touring New York City, shopping and visiting the sites.
Annas didn't make the trip, but watched from home surrounded by family and friends.
"I tell you what. I'm really excited," he said. "This whole week, I've been extremely excited, but I'm also nervous. I'm a little sad that I'm not up there."

The parade, a Thanksgiving Day tradition for 89 years, features giant balloons, floats and marching bands and attracts about 3 million people to the streets of Manhattan.
