The Hoke County Sheriff's Office said Monday that deputies were investigating a Saturday night shooting death south of Raeford.

<b>RAEFORD, N.C.</b> — The Hoke County Sheriff's Office said Monday that deputies were investigating a Saturday night shooting death south of Raeford.

Deputies were called to 672 Scott Currie Road at about 10 p.m. Saturday and found Leon Donta McGeachy, 35, dead in the backyard. Investigators said numerous shots had been fired.

A person of interest has been identified in the case, but no arrests have been made, authorities said Monday.
