HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — Authorities evacuated a Wal-Mart Supercenter briefly Thursday afternoon after a car hit a natural gas line.

About two dozen people were asked to leave the Hampton Pointe Boulevard store as a precaution.

The gas company was at the scene to cap off the leak, police said, and the Wal-Mart was expected to reopen shortly thereafter.

There were no reports of injuries and no further information about the accident or whether charges will be filed.
