Guns fired in Chapel Hill apartment complex

Chapel Hill police are investigating unsolved reports of gunfire erupting for the second weekend in a row.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Chapel Hill police are investigating unsolved reports of gunfire erupting for the second weekend in a row.

Police said they got reports of gunshots near building E in Timberlyne Apartments at 200 Westminster Drive around 3:30 a.m. Sunday. No one was injured.

Investigators would like to speak to anyone who might have witnessed the incident or has information about those involved.

Anyone with information is asked to call Chapel Hill police at 919-968-2760 or Crime Stoppers at 919-942-7515. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards up to $2,000 for anonymous tips that solve crimes.

Last Saturday, witnesses told police that two groups of men exchanged gunfire near a city parking lot on East Rosemary Street around 2:30 a.m. The men then fled, and no one was injured.

No arrests have been made in that case.
