CARY, N.C. — Students in first-period classes at Green Hope High School in Cary worked under natural light Thursday morning after a Progress Energy outage left the school without power.

School officials said enough light streamed in from the windows to make it possible to continue the school day.

Power was restored to the school about 9:40 a.m.

Officials said Davis Drive Elementary, Davis Drive Middle and Carpenter Elementary schools also dealt with intermittent power outages early Thursday. All power was restored by 10 a.m.
