Graham joins NC volunteers in Oklahoma
Franklin Graham, son of evangelist Billy Graham and president of North Carolina-based aid organization Samaritan's Purse, joined volunteers Friday in Moore, Okla. where residents are beginning the tough and tedious job of digging out from the twister that devastated their town.

"I'm just thankful there was so little loss of life when you look at the size of the destruction," Graham said. "We thank God for that."
Chaplain Toni New was helping with those prayers. "They are sort of in shock right now, but they are really just happy to know they are alive," she said.
Many of those who dropped everything to come to Moore are from the Tar Heel state. The NC Baptist Men send four teams trained to use heavy equipment to help with the cleanup.
Ault said he worked in a neighborhood that was debris as far as the eye could see. Insurance will pay for repairs, but it does not cover the cleanup.
"My heart goes out to people who have just lost everything," said Laurie Uk, as she picked up shredded boards outside one damaged home.
