Goldsboro police investigate fifth death in past week

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Police found a Goldsboro man dead Friday morning inside a home while responding to a 911 call.

Goldsboro police officers found Bryan Lee Jackson, 42, dead around 11:16 a.m. at a home on East Ash Street near North Claiborne Street.

Authorities do not suspect foul play in Jackson's death.

The investigation is ongoing.

Dating back to last week in Goldsboro, authorities have found four four people dead in a four-day span. Authorities discovered discovered individual bodies on April 12, April 13, April 14 and April 15.

Goldsboro police said they are looking into the possibility that fentanyl contributed to the four deaths, but they have not confirmed any connection.
