Goldsboro police charge suspect with rape and kidnapping at gunpoint

Goldsboro police were dispatched to the area of 153 Piedmont Airline Road on Saturday for an assault-in-progress.
When officers arrived, they found a woman parked on the roadside. She said a man had sexually assaulted her at gunpoint.
Officers found a man, 28-year-old Darion Steven Marks, who matched her description and took the suspect into custody.
Marks was taken to the police station while a criminal investigation team responded. As a result of the investigation, Marks was charged with first degree forcible rape and first degree kidnapping.
Marks is in the Wayne County Jail under a $400,000 dollar secured bond.
