GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Goldsboro police arrested a man Wednesday and charged him with breaking into at least five vehicles and stealing items from them.

Investigator Dale Foster and Sgt. K.S. Harris got a call about a suspicious person. While searching, they saw John Giesey, 33, walking on Salem Church Road. They found “several items of interest” after stopping him, according to police.

Investigators said they determined that Giesey had broken into at least five vehicles near Buck Swamp Road.

Police charged him with five counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, five counts of larceny and three counts of possession of stolen goods. More charges were pending as further reports were filed, police said.

Police put Giesey in the Wayne County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond. His first appearance was scheduled for Wednesday.
