Goldman, Reece resign as Ronda town commissioners

Goldman won last year's election as a write-in candidate. 

In an open letter to the town, Goldman cited concerns about her health stemming from a serious car accident last summer.

"Because of the serious nature of my ongoing injuries, I have been out of the area for a significant amount of time. Adding to this last weekend (7/5), was a significant injury ot my relative out of the area, and my need to be there," she wrote. "I feel that as I will not be in town on a regular basis, it is in the best interest of Ronda to appoint a replacement for me on the board, effective immediately." 

Goldman's boyfriend, Kevin Reece, who was also elected as a Ronda commissioner last year, also resigned.

Shortly after Goldman lost her bid for state auditor in 2012, she moved to Ronda (population 417), where she worked as executive director of the Derie Cheek Reece Foundation, a nonprofit stroke education group. Reece, the creator of that foundation, said he met Goldman on the campaign trail and felt she would be a good director for his nonprofit.
