“We’d prefer to fill their bellies with kudzu than use environmentally unfriendly pesticides," said Ann Woodward, Executive Director of The Scrap Exchange, in a press release. "And they make good company. It’s fun to watch them do their work.”
Kids and adults are invited to see the goats do their work on Saturday. It's all part of The Scrap Exchange's community gardening and public recreation project on the east side of its warehouse. Lettuces, mottled green beans and peppers already are growing in the 10 portable urban gardens, which have been rented to community members.
