What better way to celebrate the diversity of the Glenwood South area than a free street festival? The Global Street Fare will take place this Saturday from 12-6 p.m. in between West Jones and Tucker streets.

There will be live entertainment by international street performers, an "Iron Chef" cooking competition, a Battle of the Bars drink special competition and a Cabbage Patch children's venue with face painting and hula hoops. For those of you in a shopping mood, the vendor bazaar styled like a Barcelona marketplace is sure to have something special.

The lineup for the restaurant competition is Zely & Ritz vs. Sullivan's at 12:30 p.m. and Krave vs. Tobacco Road at 2:30 p.m. You can purchase tickets online.

After the festival is over, stay a while! Grab some dinner at one of the area's many restaurants and then explore the local nightlife scene.
