Garner, Cary among top suburbs nationwide for apartment growth
Garner and Cary are two of the fastest-growing suburbs in North Carolina, according to a study on apartment availability.

RentCafe.com gathered data on the number of new apartments built in the last five years, consisting of multifamily properties with more than 50 units. The study found that Garner and Cary both surpassed 1,500 new apartments built in that time, making them the top two North Carolina suburbs for new apartment growth. Huntersville, Mebane and Leland rounded out the top five.
In Cary, 10% of all apartment units have been built in the last five years.
Nationally, Garner and Cary both fall in the top 50 suburbs for apartment growth, at 43 and 44, respectively. Overall, Dallas suburbs saw the biggest growth, claiming three out of the top five spots on the list.
