Frog in My Pocket to offer children's clothes, gear for less in Apex

There's a new children's consignment sale in town ... the town of Apex, that is.

Hull and McNabb have been avid consignors for years and love the idea of not only being able to find inexpensive toys and clothes for their kids, but being able to recycle their kids' old clothes and earn money for them too.

Hull tells me that she's spent most of her career in retail management and business development. When she decided to start the business, her sisters stepped up to help. Travars is an IT whiz, she says, and McNabb is very detailed oriented.

"All of us are pretty much endowed with that essential element of being willing to do whatever it takes to get things done!" she wrote in an email. "The nature of the business (and the fact that the sales only happen a couple of times a year) gives us the time we need to do the job right."

The sale offers a Busy Mom Service, where Hull and her sisters sort, tag and hang clothes for the sale. The service allows consignors to drop off their sale items early, which means you don't have to worry about signing up for a drop-off time days before the sale.

Hull tells me that they'll accept items for the Busy Mom Service until June 1 so that they have enough time to price and prepare the items.

Hull said that the sisters already have prepared thousands of items for the sale. The location at BienVenue Event Center has 6,000 square feet.

Unlike most of the region's others sales, Frog in My Pocket won't just offer seasonal items - like bathing suits and spring dresses now and winter coats and sleds during a fall sale. The sale will be held twice a year, Hull said, and you'll be able to find clothes and equipment for all seasons.

"Even though this sale is not really seasonal – we’ll offer everything from bathing wear to winter coats – our next sale will be when the weather is colder," she said.

"I couldn't do this without my sisters, and I appreciate their enthusiasm," she tells me.

Sounds like a great partnership!
