FRANKLINTON, N.C. — The Town of Franklinton on Monday lifted a boil water advisory after tests showed no evidence of contamination.

The town told residents to boil water Saturday evening after a water tower under construction was taken offline. A second tower was drained of its water, officials said, forcing the advisory.

"Laboratory testing on samples collected indicate no evidence of contamination, and all other conditions that placed the system at risk of contamination are deemed to be resolved," Franklin County Public Utilities officials said in a statement.
