Four teen girls charged in Wake County school fights

Four high school students in Wake County were arrested Friday after two separate fights broke out in Holly Springs and Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Four high school students in Wake County were arrested Friday after two separate fights broke out in Holly Springs and Raleigh.

At Holly Springs High School, Dulce Mendez, 17, of 7021 Moonlit Drive, and Dulce Herrera, 16, of 6745 Broomstraw Drive, punched and pushed another girl on a school bus, warrants state.

According to warrants, Mendez also hit the school principal twice in the head.

Mendez and Herrera were charged with simple affray. Mendez faces an additional charge of assault on a government official.

The same day, a fight broke out at Millbrook High School in Raleigh, warrants state. A school employee was struck in the head when she tried to break up the fight.

Briana Diane Curtis, 17, of 5709-104 Turtle Cove, and Vioscha Tynik Deans, 18, of 2816 Glade Aster Court, were each charged with simple affray and assault on a school employee. Deans was also charged with possession of marijuana.

Mendez is out of jail on a $3,000 bond, Herrera is out on a $1,000 bond, Curtis is out on a $2,000 bond and Deans is out on a $2,500 bond. All four are due in court June 23.
