Four charged with stealing copper from employer

Cumberland County authorities have charged four men with stealing about $32,000 in copper wire from their employer.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County authorities have charged four men with stealing about $32,000 in copper wire from their employer.

Keith Marvin Blizzard, 35, of 7006 Darnell St. in Fayetteville, Carl Joseph Dunn, 21, of 8 Womble Drive in Lillington, David Neal Chestang, 19, of 6631 Main St. in Wade, and John Samuel Lord, of 6239 Birchbrook in Hope Mills, have been charged with felony larceny by employee, felony conspiracy and possession of stolen goods.

The men work for Sandy Ridge Electric Co. of Fayetteville. Company owner Keith Horne became aware of a pattern of thefts and reported his concerns to authorities. Cumberland County deputies recovered about 1,500 pounds of wiring.

The case remains under investigation, and authorities said they expect more arrests.
