RALEIGH, N.C. — Garner police arrested four Raleigh men Tuesday evening and charged them with robbing a Food Lion at 7971 Fayetteville Road.

Those arrested were:

  • Wayne Tyrone Eason, 19, of 566 E. Martin St.
  • Jason Larto Small, 23, of 1226 Rosa Lane
  • Camonti Lashae Ryles, 25, of 2001 Red Quartz Drive
  • Terry Frederick Strange, 30, of 8417 Camellia St.

Police charged the men with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of first-degree kidnapping.

Eason and Small each received a $1 million bond. Ryles was held on $600,000. Strange was also charged with one count of possession of cocaine and was held on $603,000.

Police responded to the armed robbery call at 9:27 a.m. Tuesday.

According to police reports, two armed men entered the store wearing nylon masks over their faces, displayed a handgun and knife and forced employees to open the cash registers and safe.

The suspects then left the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. A K-9 team was called in as police, assisted by the Wake County Sheriff's Department, searched the area around the shopping center.

A short time later, Garner police received a call about a suspicious vehicle on Donmoor Court, off Mechanical Boulevard. A witness described four men abandoning the vehicle there.

Investigators circled the area and found two of the suspects in the parking lot of the Days Inn Hotel, 3901 S. Wilmington St. Police identified two more suspects leaving the hotel and, after a short foot pursuit, took both of them into custody, authorities said.

Police said they found money and a handgun believed to have been used in the robbery in the suspects’ hotel room.

Police were working with other law enforcement agencies to identify any links to other area robberies. All four suspects were in the Wake County Jail as of Wednesday morning.
