FORT BRAGG, N.C. — A Fort Bragg-based soldier died in an attack in Afghanistan last Friday, the military announced Tuesday.

Sgt. Albert D. Ware, 27, died when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device in the Arghandab River Valley.

Ware, a native of Chicago, Ill., was assigned to the 782nd Combat Support Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division.
