LILLINGTON, N.C. — A suspect in the July armed robbery of McPhail’s Pharmacy in Lillington was arrested in Pennsylvania, police said Wednesday.

U.S. marshals arrested Ryan Terrell Early near his hometown of Pittsburgh on Monday, Lillington Police Chief Frank Powers said.

Early was being held in the Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh, awaiting extradition to North Carolina, Powers said.

Another suspect in the robbery, Joseph Parker McClees, 24, was charged in September. McClees was already in jail on kidnapping charges with he was charged with the robbery, Powers said.

McClees was a soldier at  Fort Bragg. Early was previously with the military, but was released in 2008, Powers said.

Police said the pair forced pharmacy employees to the floor at gunpoint, then filled a backpack with about $8,000 worth of prescription painkillers OxyContin and Percocet. No money was stolen and no one was injured.

The robbery was caught on surveillance video.
