Former NCSU basketball player acquitted in home invasion
A jury on Thursday found a former North Carolina State University basketball player not guilty of a 2010 home invasion.

Gavin Troy Grant was acquitted on charges of first-degree burglary and attempted robbery, and a charge of robbery with a dangerous weapon was dismissed.
The charges stemmed from a Sept. 24, 2010, home invasion on Crossroads Arbor Way. Police said two men forced their way into an apartment, assaulted two people who were inside and attempted to rob them.
The victims fought off the suspects, who fled before completing the robbery.
A former N.C. State baseball player was one of the victims, and he identified the attackers as Grant and another Wolfpack basketball player, Farnold Degand.
Degand had an alibi, and police cleared him in the case.
Grant's lawyers maintained during the four-day trial that, since the victim was wrong about Degand, he was also wrong about Grant, and jurors agreed.
Grant was a forward/guard for N.C. State from 2004 to 2007. He played for the Utah Flash in the NBA Development League from 2007 to 2010.
