CLAYTON, N.C. — The Johnston County Sheriff's Office charged four people with first-degree murder Saturday.

Tammy Amaon, a sheriff's office spokeswoman, said a man called authorities at about 4 p.m. to report "a situation." He led deputies to 59 Booker Court in Clayton where they found Arturo Cordoba Gomez, 18, shot in the chest.

Johnathan Simpkins, Victoria Simpkins, Adriana Russell and Adam Elliott were all arrested and charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy. Deputies also charged Aaron Howell with accessory after the fact.

Amaon said the crime appeared to be drug related.

The four murder suspects were held without bond, while Howell was granted a $1 million bond.
