Stroller Strides

About five years ago, a couple of local moms opened up franchises of Stroller Strides, a mom-baby workout that's designed for all ability levels and includes playdates and other social events for when the working out is done.

Today, it's called Fit4Mom, which encompasses multiple programs including Stroller Strides, Body Back and race training. Now it's expanding locations.

A new Chapel Hill franchise opened this month. Classes are offered at Southern Village and Great Meadow Park in Briar Chapel.
Fit4Mom Northwest Raleigh will celebrate its grand opening at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 1, at Brier Creek Commons. The grand opening will feature a free Stroller Strides class, along with prizes and playgroup afterwards. Fit4Mom Northwest Raleigh's website has more information about the grand opening.

And, the original franchises - Fit4Mom Cary/Durham (formerly Fit4Mom Raleigh) and Fit4Mom Midtown Raleigh - continue to motor along and expand.

Fit4Mom Cary/Durham is under new ownership. Devon Barker is a long-time Stroller Strides mom with three preschoolers.
And Fit4Mom Midtown Raleigh started its latest Body Back session this week. The program, which helps moms get that old body back after child birth, now has a drop-in childcare option at The Tumble Gym. The Midtown Raleigh group also is adding a half marathon and 10K training program to its 5K training program this spring.
If you want to give Stroller Strides a try, you can check out as many classes as you'd like for free during a free week. All of the Triangle franchises will be offering free classes from April 13 to April 18.
