Fire forces 11 people out of home in Durham

Firefighters said when they arrived here just after midnight, the side of the home was engulfed in flames.

DURHAM, N.C. — A fire forced nearly a dozen people out of their home Friday morning in Durham.

The Durham Fire Department was able to put out the fire at a home on Angier Avenue. Firefighters said when they arrived here just after midnight, the side of the home was engulfed in flames.

There were 11 people inside the home, but all of them made it out okay.

Firefighters on scene said the home has been used as a boarding house recently.

WRAL News is working to learn the cause of the fire. The investigation is ongoing.
