Fire damages Durham building for second time in last year
Fire caused extensive damage early Tuesday to a three-story commercial building in downtown Durham, authorities said.
Posted — UpdatedEmergency crews were called to 118 W. Parrish St. at about 2 a.m., and it took about 50 firefighters 15-30 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
Investigators said the third floor of the building, which was unoccupied, was severely damaged by the fire. The first and second floors – only the second floor of the building is occupied – were damaged by water.
No injuries were reported in the fire, and authorities did not release information about a possible cause.
On May 14, 2014, about 45 firefighters were called to the same location after fire broke out in a photography studio on the third floor.
