Fire damages home north of Pittsboro
Fire completely destroyed the second floor of a large home north of Pittsboro late Tuesday, authorities said.

Firefighters responded to a call about a fire around 9 p.m. at a home at 890 Ashton, just outside of the Fearrington community.
Authorities weren't sure what started the fire, but the family displaced by the blaze said they heard popping sounds before discovering the fire.
No injuries were reported. No other information was released.
