Fire damages Chapel Hill home

No one was injured in a fire that damaged a Chapel Hill home Sunday night.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — No one was injured in a fire that damaged a Chapel Hill home Sunday night.

The fire was reported shortly before 11:30 p.m. at 114 Pinoak Court, according to the Chapel Hill Fire Department.

About 20 firefighters from the department responded with six engines and a ladder truck. They were joined by five members of the New Hope Fire Department.

The fire began in the attic and was brought under control in about 90 minutes. The damage, estimated at $150,000, was confined to the attic area, authorities said.

The residents escaped the home unharmed. A firefighter sustained a minor injury that did not require medical attention.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
