Fingerprints link probationer to break-in
The Fayetteville police chief says that the problem of repeat offenders is highlighted by the case of a 19-year-old probationer in prison awaiting trial whose fingerprints led to more charges in separate cases.

Julian Jermaul Brown, of 104 Murray Fork Road, was arrested Sept. 24 on charges of felony larceny and possession of stolen goods.
Brown's fingerprints and additional evidence prompted police to charge him Friday in a separate break-in, police said. He faces additional charges of breaking-and-entering, larceny after breaking-and-entering and possession of stolen property. He was given a $1,500 secured bond.
"We have a man who is sitting in jail awaiting resolution for charges related to stealing other people's property. And after evidence comes back tying Brown to a totally different case, detectives charge him with an additional property crime," Chief Tom Bergamine said in a statement.
"What else has to be said about the repeat offender problem in Fayetteville?" he added.
Police records show that Brown was also arrested in March on charges of burning a building and breaking-and-entering and in September 2009 of burglary and breaking-and-entering. All the charges were felonies.
In April, he was convicted of willful or wanton injury to personal property and sentenced to 18 months of probation, according to state Department of Correction records.
