FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 29-year-old Fayetteville woman died Saturday morning after the car she was riding in wrecked at the intersection of Pamalee Drive and Commonwealth Avenue, authorities said.

The wreck happened around 2:20 a.m. when Omar McEachern, 32, lost control of his 2010 Dodge, ran off the right side of the road and hit several trees. Authorities say speed and alcohol were a factor in the wreck.

Jessica Jones and another passenger, 23-year-old Shawante Shaw, were ejected from the vehicle. Jones died as a result of her injuries.

McEachern, of the 300 block of N. Forest Drive, has been arrested and charged with DWI and driving with a revoked license.

No other information was released, but the Fayetteveille Police Department's traffic unit is investigating the incident.
