Fayetteville shooting, robbery suspect surrenders

A man suspected of shooting a Fayetteville man in the face during an attempted robbery Sunday surrendered to police late Tuesday, police said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man suspected of shooting a Fayetteville man during an attempted robbery Sunday surrendered to police late Tuesday, police said.

Christopher Antonio "Boo Boo" Lock, 22, of 5155 Hummingbird Place, faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Lock was placed in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $850,000 secured bond.

Officers responding to calls about a shooting at 1910 Center St. early Sunday found Joseph McPeak, 48, who had been shot in the face, police said. He was taken to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, where he was listed in critical condition Sunday.
