Fayetteville police released surveillance photos late Wednesday of a suspect wanted in an armed robbery at a Burger King and an attempted robbery at a gas station.

Fayetteville police seek to ID armed robbery suspect
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police released surveillance photos late Wednesday of a suspect wanted in an armed robbery at a Burger King and an attempted robbery at a gas station.

The suspect, who is said to be about 5 feet 8 inches tall and between 140 and 180 pounds, tried to enter the Skylite Tobacco Mart, at 6047 Morganton Road, at about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday. The man left the area when he could not get in the locked store.

Police said he was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt over a red shirt with a red cloth over his face.

At about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, the same man entered the Burger King at 638 South Reilly Road and robbed the restaurant at gunpoint. He left the area on foot.
