FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police on Thursday released a surveillance photo showing two vehicles believed to be linked to the shooting deaths of a father and son at the Watauga Manor Apartments.

In the photo, a white, extended cab pickup truck, possibly a Ford F-150 and a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Suburban, can be seen.

Police have asked the public to help identify the vehicles as they investigate the deaths of Joe "Hawk" Hawkins and his 26-year-old son, Alexis Hawkins, in their apartment at 5008-D Watauga Road.

Officers responding to a shots-fired call at the apartments at about 10 p.m. Tuesday found the bodies of the two men.

They have not released any information regarding a motive for the shooting or possible suspects. Investigators said neighbors saw two men leaving the apartment soon after the shooting.
