Fayetteville Police Seek Missing Woman

Fayetteville police detectives are requesting the public’s assistance to find Melinda Jones, 48.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police detectives are requesting the public’s assistance to find Melinda Jones, 48.

She was last seen on Sept. 21 at the Gilmore Recreation Center, 1600 Purdue Drive. She did not return home after visiting the recreation center.

Jones is described as a black female, 6 feet 2 inches tall, 330 pounds with long black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing gray sweatpants and a black sweatshirt.

Jones suffers from mental illness, according to police. She is known to frequent the Murchison Road area.
