Fayetteville police seek man who tried to rob Short Stop
Fayetteville police are seeking a suspect in an attempted robbery at the Short Stop convenience store Monday.

Police said a man approached the store manager at about 10:30 a.m. as he arrived to open the story at 1907 Ramsey St. According to a police report, the suspect held a gun to the victim's head, the two men struggled and the gun went off.
The victim suffered some scrapes, but the bullet did not hit him.
Police are looking for a black male suspect described as 6 feet tall, thin and wearing a military-style rain coat or hoodie. The suspect was see getting into an older model, silver or gray station wagon.
Anyone with information about the suspect or the vehicle is asked to call the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1856. To leave an anonymous tip and be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000, call Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477.
