Fayetteville Police searching for burglary suspect

Fayetteville Police responded to a burglary in the 800 block of English Court at 5 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities said a man entered the home and stole a cell phone before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville Police responded to a burglary in the 800 block of English Court at 5 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities said a man entered the home and stole a cell phone before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction.

A man matching the same description was then seen attempting to open a door around 6 a.m. in the 5800 block of Century Oaks Drive. Authorities said the man fled after the resident confronted him.

On Wednesday, employees at a local business saw a man believed to be a person of interest in the case at about 8 a.m. After calling police, detectives were able to speak with the man, who is no longer considered to eb a person of interest in the case.

Authorities said the suspect is described as black and listed as 5 foot 6 inches to 5 feet nine inches tall with black twists in his hair and chin hair. He was also seen wearing a black hoodie with red writing and dark pants with a bandana in his pocket. The man was reportedly seen with a metal baseball bat with white taping.
