Fayetteville police search for bewigged bank robber

A man in a wig and dark sunglasses robbed a Fayetteville bank Tuesday morning, police said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man in a wig and dark sunglasses robbed a Fayetteville bank Tuesday morning, police said.

The man walked into the First Citizens Bank branch at 126 Broadfoot Ave. at about 9:15 a.m., handed a teller a note demanding money and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The robber was described as black, 6 feet to 6 feet 1 inch tall with broad shoulders. In addition to the wig and sunglasses, he wore a gray-over-black jacket and dark pants, police said.

Anyone who can identify the robber or has information about the case is asked to call Fayetteville police at 910-433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477.
