Fayetteville police put cold cases online
Police said Thursday that they have created a website to assist in the investigation of 51 unsolved homicides in Fayetteville.
Posted — UpdatedThe site provides some details of each cold case and includes pictures and videos. Police said they hope the information will produce leads from people who recognize a suspect or have a bit of information that they never thought was important enough to tell investigators.
Homicide detectives also have partnered with criminal justice students at Methodist University to produce videos about the unsolved cases, police said.
“It is important partnerships between the police department and the community like this that help to tackle the problems that we face,” Interim Police Chief Katherine Bryant said in a statement. “All unsolved homicides have denied closure to the families of the victims. At the Fayetteville Police Department, no homicide case is closed until the person or persons responsible for the homicide have been identified, arrested and found guilty in a court of law.”
