Fayetteville police investigate sex assault

Police said Friday that they are investigating a sex assault alleged to have occurred in Fayetteville last weekend.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police said Friday that they are investigating a sex assault alleged to have occurred in Fayetteville last weekend.

A woman told investigators that she received a ride from an unknown man driving an older-model, black Ford Crown Victoria at about 9 p.m. Saturday. He took her to a location off Rosehill Road and sexually assaulted her before ordering her out of the car and driving off, she told police.

The attacker was described as black, in his 20s, about 190 to 200 pounds, with a muscular build, dreadlocks and a goatee. He was wearing a white tank top and black pants.
