Fayetteville pedestrian struck, killed
A person driving a Nissan Armada struck and killed a pedestrian early Monday on Grove Street, near Eastern Boulevard, according to Fayetteville police.
Posted — UpdatedFAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A person driving a Nissan Armada struck and killed a pedestrian early Monday on Grove Street, near South Eastern Boulevard, according to Fayetteville police.
Dewey Smith, 51, of Fayetteville, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the 3:45 a.m. incident, police said.
A preliminary investigation showed Smith wasn't using a crosswalk, police said, so no charges will be filed against the SUV driver, Christian Chung of Forest Lake Road.
