FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police continue to search for the family of a man whose badly decomposed body was discovered inside his home Friday.

Richard Jackson, 67, was found inside 6444 Starbrook Drive shortly before 9:30 a.m. Friday. Police went to the home after someone reported him missing. He was last seen on Feb. 6.

An autopsy determined he was stabbed to death.

Police believe the stabbing was not random. Jackson's black 2010 Nissan Sentra, which was missing from his home, was recently found in Baltimore.

Detectives have been unable to notify Jackson’s family of his death and are asking for the public's help to identify any members of his immediate family.
