Fayetteville man drowns at Jordan Lake
A Fayetteville man drowned in Jordan Lake Sunday afternoon, Chatham County officials said.
Posted — UpdatedPITTSBORO, N.C. — A Fayetteville man drowned in Jordan Lake Sunday afternoon, Chatham County officials said.
Steven Michael Hux, 61, swam out to get a boat that drifted away from the dock, off W.H. Jones Road, while he was trying to load it. His body was found around 6:10 p.m.
County officials said they believe the chill of the 56-degree water caused Hux to lose function in some of his limbs.
