Fayetteville man dies from injuries in October shooting

A Fayetteville man has died nine days after being shot multiple times, authorities said Monday.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville man has died nine days after being injured in a shooting, authorities said Monday.

Domonte Briggs, 30, died Sunday from his wounds, Fayetteville police said.

Officers found Briggs with multiple gunshot wounds when they responded to shooting call about 6 a.m. on Oct. 27 in the 300 block of Cool Spring Street. Briggs was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he underwent surgery. He was then moved to an undisclosed location for his safety, police said.
