Fayetteville man charged with sexually assaulting 11-year-old girl

Cumberland County deputies on Monday arrested a 20-year-old Fayetteville man in connection with the June sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County deputies on Monday arrested a 20-year-old Fayetteville man in connection with the June sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl. 

Leonardo Emmanuel Leon Galvez, of 2622 Cabana Drive, faces two counts of statutory rape, two counts of statutory sex offense, four counts of sexual activity by substitute parent and one count of indecent liberties. 

According to investigators, Galvez assaulted the girl several times between June 16 and July 5 at a home belonging to her relative. 

Galvez was in the Cumberland County jail under a $300,000 bond Tuesday and was expected to make his first court appearance at 2:30 p.m.
