Fayetteville man charged with Katrina-related fraud
A federal grand jury in Mississippi has indicted a Fayetteville man with defrauding the Federal Emergency Management Agency on a Hurricane Katrina recovery contract.
Posted — UpdatedClarence Bundy Morrison IV was charged with two counts each of wire fraud and making false statements and one count each of conspiracy to defraud the government and making a false claim.
FEMA awarded a contract to block, level and anchor trailers provided to displaced residents in southern Mississippi after the devastating 2005 storm, and the indictment alleges that Morrison misrepresented himself and his business as being based in Mississippi in order to win the contract.
