FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville man has been charged with beating and seriously injuring his 16-year-old daughter, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

Robert Mac Allen, 36, of 2610 Uphill Drive, was arrested early Thursday after his daughter was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

She told investigators that her father punched her in the face and ribs more than once and beat her with a leather strap. Investigators said injuries on her face and body matched those caused by a belt.

Allen was charged with misdemeanor assault on a female. He has been released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
