FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville man was arrested Tuesday after deputies say he fired several shots at a man who was driving away from his house after an argument, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said.

Sharif Omar Taylor, 37, of 1729 Nova Glen Drive, was charged with attempted murder and discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle. He was being held in the Cumberland County jail under a $300,000 bond.

Investigators say that 37-year-old Curtis Jerome Johnson was visiting Taylor's home on Aug. 23 when a fight broke out between them. Johnson ran to his vehicle and drove off and said he saw in his rear-view mirror that Taylor was on the porch with a gun.
