FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police on Tuesday arrested a Fayetteville man accused of fleeing after crashing into a stopped school bus last week.

Stanley Darrel McDougald, 23, of 3499 Sanderosa Road, is charged with felony hit-and-run, failure to reduce speed and driving with a revoked license.

A bus carrying students from Cape Fear High School had stopped on Deep Creek Road on Friday afternoon and had its stop-arm extended and lights flashing when it was hit from behind by a Saturn SUV, police said.

The driver of the SUV then jumped out of the vehicle and ran off, police said.

The bus driver and one student reported minor injuries and were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment.
