If you’re trying to find me and you’re having no success, please, don’t take offense.

I am just buried over here under a mound of birthday party invitations, for it is, indeed, Birthday Party Season.

Seriously, does it seem like there are more birthday parties this time of year? Is there some sort of data to back me up, that more people are born in the early months?

Because every year, right after New Year’s, it seems like there is an onslaught of kid birthday parties to attend, including one for my own child. I have a steady stream of gift bags and tissue paper at the ready, and I never go to Walmart or Target without hitting up the toy section for a gift.

The calendar is filled with roller skating parties, spa birthday parties, laser tag, ice skating, kid gym parties, you name it. And it looks like this every weekend until about March. My poor kids … they won’t know what to do without birthday cake and goody bags every Saturday.

So, if you need me, don’t fret. Just look for me at the skating rink or the park or the kid art studio. I’m there every Saturday, from now through the foreseeable future …..
