Father charged after toddler shot in drug deal argument
The father of a Mount Olive 2-year-old who was shot on Christmas Eve now faces a criminal charge in the shooting, Duplin County authorities said.

The toddler was in the back of his parents' car when the child's father and another man began arguing over a marijuana deal, authorities said. As the parents tried to drive off, the other man shot at the car, wounding the child, authorities said.
Tyler Chase Sanderson, 16, of Alum Springs Road in Mount Olive, was charged with one count each of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and shooting into an occupied vehicle and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
The child's father, Tyqon Chauneal Moore, 28, of Maria Garcia Lane in Mount Olive, has been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and was placed in the Duplin County jail under a $1,000 bond.
Sanderson's mother, Crystal Gail Sanderson, 39, was charged with felony obstruction of justice after deputies said she removed a weapon from the crime scene.
The toddler remains at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville in fair condition.
